Women Rising Wild Retreat

Time:
Meet in Westcliffe at noon on Friday for the caravan to our event site and Mission: Wolf sanctuary. Our retreat closes at 1pm on Sunday. We will remain on site throughout the duration of our retreats.
Location in Colorado:
Women Rising Wild takes place near the town of Westcliffe at Mission: Wolf sanctuary in the Wet Mountains of southcentral Colorado. The drive from Denver and Colorado Springs to the retreat site is approximately four hours or two hours, respectively. Denver International Airport is our closest major airport. Colorado Springs Airport offers limited flights. Carpooling is strongly encouraged. Specific details, driving directions, and carpool coordination will be provided to participants after registering for the event.

Investment for Women Rising Wild with Wolves in Colorado:
♥ Regular Registration: $500 per adult, $250 per child
♥ Deposit: $100 per person
♥ Payments and Balance Due: Balance is due in full two weeks prior to our event. Payment plans are available upon request.
♥ No one is turned away for financial reasons.

What’s Included:
♥ Meals are provided and prepared as a village. These include: dinner on day one; breakfast, lunch, and dinner Saturday; and breakfast on Sunday. Vegan and gluten-free options are available for an added fee.
♥ Two nights camping
What’s Not Included:
♥ Transportation to and from retreat is not provided. However, carpool is encouraged and supported.
♥ Camping equipment may be available for rent upon request.
♥ Travel Insurance: Please review our cancelation policy before registering for this event. Though cancellations are rare they can happen. The deposit and registration fees paid for this event are non-refundable. We recommend purchasing Travel Insurance which can cover non-refundable travel costs in case you or we cancel this event due to force majeure. Outward Travel can assist you in obtaining travel insurance for this event or it may be purchased elsewhere.

♥ You do not have to be an expert in outdoor athleticism or in peak physical condition to attend our event. Individuals with mobility limitations are not precluded from participation. Please contact us to discuss modifications and accessibility at our event location. Continue reading for baseline expectations for your physical ability without modifications at Women Rising Wild camping retreat in Colorado. Please note this description is for adults, not children. Adults must be able to casually walk one mile up and down gentle hills in less than 30 minutes; walk and hike on uneven terrain; stand for extended periods of time; squat near to the earth; comfortably sit on the ground; get up from the ground unassisted; carry a day pack with water, snacks, rain gear, and headlamp; tolerate rapid changes in weather; hike in low light and at night; and effectively communicate personal needs.
The emotional, spiritual, and physical nature of our events stretch us. Compassionate, cooperative, and respectful behavior is expected at all times during retreat and in our community. We reserve the right to dismiss anyone from our event at any time if they are not physically or mentally safe in the group. If you have questions about your physical or mental health readiness consult with a medical professional or licensed therapist. And contact us to discuss any concerns, accommodations, or questions.
Statement on Substance Use:
♥ Wild Heart Revival events are substance free. Use of alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, and mind altering substances is prohibited. We welcome you just as you are, unaltered and in your true nature while on retreat with us.
Note on Technology:
♥ This Wild Heart Revival event is unplugged. Cell phone use is not permitted except for emergency, health reasons, or other extenuating circumstance. Phones must otherwise be placed away, turned off, or on airplane mode for the duration of our event.
Accommodations for Nursing Moms:
♥ Women with dependent children may bring a caregiver to support care for their child. Other caregivers including men may create their own separate camp nearby so that mothers can visit with their children on breaks between activities and as necessary for feeding, etc. Please be in contact with us to discuss further these kinds of accommodations to support your presence at Women Rising Wild.
Meet our Founder and Visionary for Women Rising Wild
Melissa Lynn Reed is the visionary for Women Rising Wild and founder of Wild Heart Revival, LLC. She is a fourth generation healer and transformational wilderness guide. Melissa holds a BA and MS in ecology and she is presently pursuing her doctorate in psychology with a focus in consciousness and spiritual studies. Melissa has over 30 years experience as a wildlife biologist specializing in studies of rare and endangered mammals. Melissa is a seasoned tracker, master medicine weaver, yogini, and mystic with deep and intimate ties with nature. She has led more than 200 nature-based workshops and guided more than 80 multi-day science and adventure retreats for more than 2000 adults and children. Summer 2025 Melissa hosted her 25th transformational Women Rising Wild wilderness retreat.
